Great writing means a lot to our family. We're all readers and we're all writers. Matt writes every summer, religiously. Each week, Memorial Day through Labor Day, he agonizes over every word, every phrase, and produces a beautiful verbal snapshot of whatever is occupying him in the moment. As he crafts his concise visions, he manages to strike on the most relatable, heartfelt elements of his own story, and we all find something in it that resonates.
We're so in love with writing that two years ago, for Christmas, we bought ourselves a beautiful old Underwood typewriter. It's fully functional and was heavily used the first few months we had it, but then our family expanded, and its use will just have to wait until there is time to sit and enjoy careful typing again. Give us a few years. In the meantime, I did what I do with almost everything: I drew it.
I've letterpress printed my drawing of our Underwood in black ink on thick 100% cotton stock. The typewriter drawing itself measures about 5" wide x 3.5" high on an 11" x 14" sheet, and was printed in an edition of 25. Ships flat.
