One of my favorite things to do each winter is to go to the orchid show at the New York Botanical Garden. Incredible varieties of orchids drape and cover the conservatory. It's a stunning spectacle.
This original painting of one of those orchids measures 4" x 11", with hand torn, deckled edges. I had several fragments of old cyanotypes printed on a lovely thick cotton paper, and I've reused those fragments here by gessoing over the paper (so there's still a hint of the cyanotype's blue that shows through), and then drew with pencil and finished with watercolor.
