Air Mail Vintage Postage Journal

Sold Out

I admit it, I love mail. My mom has long been an incredible correspondent and the days that her letters arrive in our mailbox are a total treat. If it's so much of a novelty now for me to receive a letter from someone 1,000 miles away, but who I speak with nearly every day, I can only imagine the thrill of pre-telephone mail, when messages were rare and bore unknown news. Air mail, of course, bespeaks great distances between correspondents and when it was first available its speed must have seemed superhuman.

I've developed quite the vintage stamp collection and have created a collection of journals and albums to celebrate air mail. These journals feature a single 5 cent air mail stamp in red with an airplane front and center from 1947. The covers are a linen/cotton blend, with a small inset panel in which the stamp rests.

Whether the blank pages inside house travel notes, or records of a wedding or honeymoon, these Coptic stitch journals are a beautiful home in which your thoughts may rest.
